Create Stitched Cards With These Easy Steps
Maybe you realized that you need a last minute card for a baby shower or graduation. Or maybe your children want to make a special birthday card for a grandparent or cousin. Here's what you can do to make a simple pretty card with only a few supplies!
What you will need.
- Cardstock or other thick paper
- Embroidery thread or lightweight yarn
- A needle with a big enough eye to thread the string
Draw a simple design on the front of the card. A flower, a word, a bunch of balloons, a geometric shape, etc. Then using the needle, punch holes evenly around the outline you have drawn, placing them where they will define the corners and edges of your design.
Next thread the needle and begin to stitch a pattern. Use various colors to create contrast and interest. Finally stitch around the outline of your design to give it a finished look.
Now you have a beautiful unique card give to a loved one!
